Terms of use

1. What Barajamos is

Barajamos is a room for traditional card games (Truc, Mus, Presi, Chinchón and Tute) to play online with other people or against bots. It is run by Jorge Martínez Fernández (jorgemarfer179@gmail.com) and Óscar Marqués Sanchis (omarques1308@gmail.com). You can write to us in any of the website’s languages. By using it you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

2. Free and without real money

3. Your account

4. Fair play

It is not allowed to:

If someone breaks these rules we may, depending on how serious it is, hide their nickname in the ranking, remove chips or points obtained improperly, or suspend or close their account.

5. Moderation

You can report any table chat message or any nickname that breaks the rules in the previous section or the law: insults, harassment, threats, discrimination, sexual content, impersonation, someone else’s personal data, spam or advertising.

How to report

What we do

Barajamos is run by two people. The only automated moderation is a nickname filter: it doesn’t allow a nickname with insults or offensive words at the table, in Friends or for bots and partners, and it hides older nicknames that contain them from the ranking. If you think the filter got yours wrong, write to us and a person will review it.

Everything else we do by hand: we read every report and, depending on how serious it is and whether it happens again, we may:

If content may be a crime or puts someone at risk, especially a minor, we may inform the authorities. If you wrote to us, we reply with what we decided and why. If the measure concerns your account or nickname, we email your Google account address with what we did, the reason and how to ask for a review.

How to ask for a decision to be reviewed

If you disagree with a measure on your account or nickname, or with our answer to your report, write to the same addresses within six months and tell us why. The other person on the team, not the one who decided, reviews it, and we reply with the outcome. This does not affect your right to go to the courts or to consumer authorities.

6. The ranking

Only online games between accounts on opposite sides score. Winning adds, losing subtracts and abandoning a rated game counts as a loss for whoever leaves. The ranking rules may change to make it fairer (for example, with seasons).

7. Promo codes and store

Promo codes give chips, are redeemed with an account and may expire or be withdrawn. Store items are bought with chips and give the right to show them off in the game for as long as it exists. We may change the catalogue and the prices; you are never charged a price different from the one you see when buying.

8. Availability

Barajamos is provided as is, with no guarantee that it will always work or be free of errors. We may change the games, the rules, the chip economy or close the service. If we close it, we will announce it on the website in advance.

9. Intellectual property

The design, code, illustrations and texts of Barajamos belong to their authors, except as stated below. Traditional card games belong to everyone; our way of presenting them doesn’t. You can play and share screenshots, but not copy the website or its own resources for another service.

The cards of the standard deck (the 48 faces and the back) are by Basquetteur and Germarquezm, published on Wikimedia Commons (“Baraja española completa” and “Reverso baraja española”) under the CC BY-SA 3.0 licence. We have cut them into single cards and changed their format and size; those versions can be reused under the same licence. The free software libraries the website uses, with their licences, are in licencias.txt.

10. Liability

We do our best for Barajamos to work well and be safe, but we are not liable for the loss of chips, points or virtual items due to technical failures, nor for what other players write or do. None of this limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

11. Changes and governing law

If we change these terms, we will say so here with the date of the last update. They are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the mandatory rules that protect you as a consumer in your country of residence. For any question or complaint, write to jorgemarfer179@gmail.com or to omarques1308@gmail.com.
