How to start a game

  1. Press “Play truco now”. Barajamos opens with Argentine truco already chosen.
  2. Choose how to play. “Play with friends” opens a room with a six-character code and a link to share. “Find a game” seats you at a public table. “Play against bots” deals straight away.
  3. Send the link. Whoever opens it joins your table without installing anything. If someone is missing, the host can seat a bot in the empty chair.
  4. When all four are in, deal. The host starts the game and everyone gets three cards.

What truco on Barajamos offers

With your friends, through a link
Create the room, share the link or the code and play, each from home. Nobody has to sign up or download anything.
Public table
“Find a game” puts you together with other people who want to play. If it takes a while to fill up, bots can complete the table.
Against bots, at your own pace
Three levels: Tavern Apprentice, Felt Fox and Salon Legend. The game is saved in your browser and carries on where you left it when you reload.
Your partner decides with you
When your pair receives a call, both partners vote on whether to accept. If you do not agree within ten seconds, it is a “no quiero”.
Points in plain sight
The table declares the envido points, shows the winner’s cards and keeps the score of bad and good points: nobody has to count.
Chips, ranking and five languages
Every game earns chips. With a Google account, your progress is saved on all your devices. The table speaks Spanish, Valencian, Portuguese, English and French.

The rules in a minute

Two pairs, three cards each and up to three rounds per hand. The essentials:

  • It is played with the 40-card Spanish deck, without eights or nines. The highest card is the ace of swords, el macho, followed by the ace of clubs, la hembra.
  • The pair that takes two rounds wins the hand.
  • Envido: a bet on your count, 20 plus two cards of the same suit (face cards are worth zero). It is called in the first round, before you play your first card.
  • Truco: raises what the hand is worth: Truco (2), Retruco (3) and Vale cuatro (4).
  • The game is to 30 points: fifteen bad and fifteen good. It is played without flor.
